What is an original painting?
Each original painting is a one-of-a-kind piece created by Mayte Alquicira in her McKinney, Texas studio using mixed media on canvas. No two originals are alike, once sold, they are gone forever.
What are Prints & Editions?
Prints and limited editions are high-quality giclée reproductions of original works, available in multiple sizes. A wonderful way to start collecting original art at a more accessible price point.
What does "Inquire to Acquire" mean?
Some original paintings are listed as "Inquire to Acquire" because shipping costs vary based on the size of the piece, packaging required (custom box or wooden crate), and your location. The artwork price is shown upfront, simply reach out so we can provide an accurate shipping quote before finalizing your purchase.
Can I see more photos or video before purchasing?
Absolutely, we encourage it! Contact us at info@maytealquicira.com and we'll provide additional photos, video, or details to help you feel confident in your decision.
Do colors look exactly as shown on screen?
We do our best to photograph and display each piece as accurately as possible. However, screen colors vary by device. If color accuracy is important to you, please reach out and we'll do our best to help.
Orders & Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and payment methods available through Shopify's secure checkout.
Can I cancel my order?
Prints and editions can be cancelled before production begins (within 24 hours of purchase). Original paintings are final sale upon payment and cannot be cancelled.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes, you'll receive an email confirmation as soon as your order is placed. Please check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
We currently ship within the contiguous United States only. We hope to offer international shipping in the future. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified!
How long will it take to receive my order?
For prints, allow up to 5 business days for printing and packing, plus 5–7 business days for delivery (10–12 business days total). For original paintings, allow 3–5 business days for packaging, plus 5–7 business days for delivery.
How are original paintings packaged?
Every original is packaged in either a custom box or wooden crate, selected based on the size and fragility of the piece. All originals require a signature upon delivery.
How is shipping calculated for originals?
Shipping for originals is quoted individually based on artwork size, packaging type, and your location. You'll receive your exact quote during the inquiry process, before any payment is made.
What if my package is delayed?
Once handed off to the carrier we are not responsible for delays, but we will always do our best to help you track and resolve any issues. Contact us at info@maytealquicira.com
Returns & Refunds
Can I return an original painting?
Original paintings are final sale. If your piece arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and original packaging. Return shipping will be covered in full in the case of damage.
Can I return a print?
Yes, prints and editions may be returned within 14 days of delivery in their original condition and packaging. Buyer is responsible for return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival and contact us within 7 days at info@maytealquicira.com with photos of the damage and packaging. We will make it right.
How long do refunds take?
Once your return is received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.
Copyright & Usage
Do I own the copyright when I purchase a piece?
Purchasing an artwork transfers physical ownership only. All copyright and reproduction rights remain with Mayte Alquicira. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any artwork commercially without prior written consent.
Can I share photos of my artwork on social media?
Of course! We love seeing our pieces in their new homes. Please tag us @maytealquiciraart we'd love to share it.
